ETIQUETTE
- Upon entering a dojang (training hall) with either the Korean or Australian flag displayed, you must bow to the flags.
- When in uniform, bow to all members senior to you, highest grade first.
- When leaving the dojang, once again, bow to the flags.
- Do not leave the dojang during class without the Instructor's permission.
- Smoking, eating and drinking in the dojang are strictly forbidden.
- Whilst sitting down or resting during class, refrain from idle chatter.
- Wearing shoes is prohibited.
- No-one is allowed to teach without the Instructor's permission.
- Uniforms should be Shi-Gan uniforms only, no exceptions.
- Tracksuit pants and a T-Shirt are suitable until that time.
- Your dobok is not to be worn to and from training unless you travel by car and should only be worn outside the training hall (dojang) under special circumstances e.g. for a demonstration.
- When the belt is tied, the ends should be of equal length from the knot, if the belt has a stripe or tip, it is to be worn on the right side.
- No jewellery is to be worn at any time during training.
- Long hair should be tied back in a ponytail or a headband worn.
- Nails should be kept trimmed.
- Mouth-guard is compulsory, no mouth-guard, no training.
FEES
Paid per lesson or the discounted monthly fee. Cost on application only.
Monthly training fee must be paid on or before the 10th day of the current month. If the fee is not received by the 10th the student is not a financial member and therefore not entitled to train. If you are unable to attend training for more than three consecutive weeks, inform your Instructor in writing. Fees are to be paid at the "home" dojang.
Training cards must be left with your Instructor at the start of each lesson to be signed and must be collected again after class. Your card is an official record of how regularly you train and must be handed in with your grading form.
A minimum of 5 nights per month required to attend grading examination.
GRADING
Grading examinations are held every 3 months and are at the recommendation of your Instructor. Grading application forms will not be accepted unless they are completed neatly (including photo attached) and must be handed to your Instructor together with the appropriate fee no later than 10 days prior to the grading. If your monthly fees are not up to date, you are not permitted to grade. A training card must accompany grading forms.
