Adamstown Centre
Instructor George Nantsou 1st Dan
George began his martial arts journey in early 2000, attaining his black belt in 2008 before taking over the role of instructor at the Adamstown centre in early 2009. Wishing to expand his knowledge and skills, George also joined Shi-gan Taekwondo as a student in early 2008, initially at The Junction centre then settling at the Lambton centre under the tutelage of Senior Instructor Trevor March and Jason Woodward, and gaining his black belt with Shi-gan in March 2009. During 2009, George and the Adamstown centre were fortunate to be invited to join the Shi-gan family, becoming one of the most recent additions to this successful organisation.
Always active in many different sports, George did not start his formal training until he was 40, who like many mature aged students began martial arts to join one of his children who had been training in TKD for a number of years. In his late teens and early twenty’s, George trained in the art of boxing under the watchful eye of Wal Bentley as well as cross training with the highly regarded kick boxers of that time in Basil Gura and Greg Cairns.
George continues to train 4 nights a week as he has since 2008, he enjoys continuing his development in martial arts 2 nights a week at the Lambton centre, which allows him to bring this knowledge to his students at the Adamstown centre.
Highly regarded by his loyal group of students, George, along with his assistant instructor, Corey Bubb, get immense satisfaction training the large junior contingent at the Adamstown centre. With a unique program that includes separate junior sessions and a monthly theme focussed based on building desirable attitudes and character traits, many of the parents pay tribute to this program as a terrific means for instilling life skills and building excellent character and respectable attitudes.
